It was a Sunday afternoon earlier this year, February 8th. We parked the cars with our gear outside the Guru Bar in Psyrri, downtown Athens. Five minutes later, our hosts for the gig and radio show broadcast Serafeim, Stelios (Provis) and Vasilis (Sigkatikos) arrived in their soccer outfits (tres sportif garcons) and helped us carry all the stuff up. The live stage of the club was set up on the third floor and the radio installation was set on a small attic right above the live stage floor. We spent the entire afternoon setting up everything, drinking anything we could find in the closed bar, eating junk food and discussing how we would fit our 14 lines into the 8-track console available for the live broadcast. The PA system of the club was no problem the only tricky part was the radio broadcast for CityFM 99,5.. but as you can hear in these 4 songs we have available for you to download, I think we did ok in the end after all! ‘Like Fire’, originally by The Dubrovniks, is the first song we have ever covered as a band. We have been playing it since 2002 and it has been a constant part of our live setlists for 7 years, usually the last song of the show. We recorded it in 2005 for the first time (for a promo cd we gave out in gigs back then) and it was the last song to be included in the ‘Just A Crash’ album last year.
Finally we chose this song to become the last single for JAC, thus completing the symmetry, with a strong taste video by Dimitris Sylvestros.
It’s the best way to prepare for our next album.

Thursday, March 19th 2009. At 1 p.m we were at the bar of Intrepid Fox at Gazi, Athens waiting for director Dimitris Sylvestros’ crew to set up the lights and everything. By 8 p.m we had everything packed again and had the last beer of the day. We shot the video for “Like Fire” in less than 7 hours, with long long breaks of beer, tequila, and pool. After the 30th consequent playback of the song everybody had a crazy look in their eyes but what can you do… These are the photos of the day that our manager mister George Mouzis took while running around making sure everything’s in place. A fun day making the video for the last single out of JAC..

A glorius sunny day outside and we were shooting pool with Ms Victoria, our hostess for the day. She kicked my ass. (more…)

The past two weeks we managed to create a promotional Cyanna digipack including an audio CD (tracks: Ebabe, Like Fire, Liquid main, Liquid DNC) and a DVD with 4 killer live videos from the gig at Club22 (Liquid intro, Ebabe, the Apple, Like Fire).. Achilles+Adamantia designed and created the whole thing from the artwork and photos inlcuded, to the incredible-collectors item-ultra-rare-package..damn this thing looks good! (the following photos cant even describe half of it..)
Anyway, in the meantime we have a new track ready called “electron”, featuring greek lyrics again after more than 2 years! 3 more new tracks are in the process of completion and they’ll all be included in our next live setlist soon to be announced, so stay tuned.
We are also considering one more cover or two..it’s all a matter of time. Actually a matter of not havin enough of it.. (sh*t)
Cheers.
P.S to our myspace fans/supporters: THNQ BIG TIME PPL..

Last week i began reporting from the studio..since that entry is in greek, for the non-greek readers just a quick heads up:
Since Friday the 21st of October we have started the recordings of our second full album. The first two tracks being produced right now are ‘E-babe’ and ‘Like Fire’. Yannos of Fingers Crossed has recorded the guitars and trust me..the sound is blasting!! We are back to our rock/metal roots with the electro beats pumping harder than ever!!
Anyway..On Monday we completed the vocal recording and now, I am ready to take on my Pro-Tooling sessions. This Sunday i am starting off with ‘E-babe’ and next week ‘Like Fire’. Btw ‘Like Fire’ has been our favourite cover song for more than 3 yrs.. the funny part is that we still dont have the original version in any form!!! 3 yrs ago when we began doing this track live I listened to it for 2 or 3 times just to get the idea of how the melody and the rhythm was..even the guitars are different, not to mention the fact that the original version (by The Dubrovniks) was not electro
hehe so i guess it’s going to be an interesting sound to those familiar to the original version because we did not keep many things unchanged.. What has been kept the same is definately the energy of the song which is totally haunting i admit.
After these two songs we are planning to continue right away with the next ones..only thing we dont know which they are going to be.. just to name a few titles: “War [this is]“, “Rememberance”, “Vita”, “Lil’ Story”, “The Hammer” and a couple more unnamed yet..
we’ll see..
Meanwhile i’ve almost completed version 4.9 of the official website.. it will kick in sometime this weekend i hope, so keep your eyes clicked..or whatevah.
