HIGHWAY EXIT

LIVE AT GURU

0902guruIt was a Sunday afternoon earlier this year, February 8th. We parked the cars with our gear outside the Guru Bar in Psyrri, downtown Athens. Five minutes later, our hosts for the gig and radio show broadcast Serafeim, Stelios (Provis) and Vasilis (Sigkatikos) arrived in their soccer outfits (tres sportif garcons) and helped us carry all the stuff up. The live stage of the club was set up on the third floor and the radio installation was set on a small attic right above the live stage floor. We spent the entire afternoon setting up everything, drinking anything we could find in the closed bar, eating junk food and discussing how we would fit our 14 lines into the 8-track console available for the live broadcast. The PA system of the club was no problem the only tricky part was the radio broadcast for CityFM 99,5.. but as you can hear in these 4 songs we have available for you to download, I think we did ok in the end after all! LIKE FIRE VIDEO SHOOT @ INTREPID FOX: GOOD TIMES

Watch the “Like Fire” video on MySpace
Watch the “Like Fire” video on Facebook

Thursday, March 19th 2009. At 1 p.m we were at the bar of Intrepid Fox at Gazi, Athens waiting for director Dimitris Sylvestros’ crew to set up the lights and everything. By 8 p.m we had everything packed again and had the last beer of the day. We shot the video for “Like Fire” in less than 7 hours, with long long breaks of beer, tequila, and pool. After the 30th consequent playback of the song everybody had a crazy look in their eyes but what can you do… These are the photos of the day that our manager mister George Mouzis took while running around making sure everything’s in place. A fun day making the video for the last single out of JAC..

Confession

-Forgive me father for i have sinned. Its been too long since my last confession and my sins are starting to feel heavy on my back..
I havent made peace with myself yet father. I create to be loved but no love is returned. People are cruel father. People will stare. People wont love you for the words that you say. Am i vain father?

A whole album almost ready. In August we get into SCA studio for the final recordings and mix. I’ve been wiriting lyrics like crazy the past two months. Thnk God for the last 4 gigs in April and June, pushed us so much further into our musical subconscious.. Nick has written the best music he’s written in years this month and since Louie joined the band in the end of March, the sound feels more solid than ever. I am currently doing some test vocal recordings at at home and so is Louie with Nick for the guitars. Just to name a few titles from the new album: “Done B”, “Fairytale of One”, “Better Not, “Highway Exit”, “Lil Story”, “Electron”, “Paranoid GF”, “On and On”, “Innocence” and some more.. maybe we’ll upload one or two demos of these tracks on myspace soon, just to get an idea and keep the flame burning..

Meanwhile I gotta send a huge thnq to our photographers Achilles and Adamantia, Jason for the incredible body painting he did on me at the Music Day Festival (Prive Tattoo), Teo at SCA studio for the constant sound treatments, our beloved incrdible beautiful manager Nat, Amanda and Chara for photos and videos, Jojo for being Jojo, Dianne for the words and all our friends for their support, understanding and love these last months..

..I mean what the fuck man? What’s goin on in our heads???
Sometimes I listen to the tracks and think to myself ‘God! this is so sick..’.

We were raised with heavy rock/metal music. A few alternative and grunge sounds. A lil bit of hardcore/punk and lots of jazz and classic rock..but that’s it.
Then again electronic music has always fascinated us. The emotional stimulation of ambience and the impact of a groovy, hard beat on your body..
And now..we’re doing both! As hard as it gets from both sides! And it’s driving us crazy! Sometimes, musically, I feel we are two schizophrenics my brother and I!
This hybrid cannot be described, at least we can’t. Actually we are sooooo tired of hearing people telling us “..but what do you call this? what is this? where in my store should I categorise your CD? Where should my company sell this? What’s your audience? Similar artists to put you together with.. Are you rock or are you electronic? You are not mainstream enough – You are not indie enough – You are too heavy – You are too pop” and so on..

Well, if and when we find the answers to all that we’ll give you a call. Until then.. I guess this is goodb..FUCKOFF *givin the finger*
:)

Sending off our love to Jojo and Louie.
